A Fine List of Wannabes
It's that time again, folks. A new week of succulent HubNugget Wannabes are up for savouring and voting on.
All of the hubs on the voting block fall under a set of specific guidelines, which can be read in the HubNuggets How-To, Q & A. Basically, this contest is for new hubbers only, who have produced a hub with quality content (and enough of it) and an attractive layout.
The hubbers have worked hard on these hubs but you don't have to. All you need to do is enjoy reading the HubNugget Wannabes and then vote for your favourite. The 5 hubbers with the highest percentages of votes by newsletter time each week, wins the title of HubNugget.
The 5 winning hubs are highlighted in the weekly newsletter which is circulated to over 40,000 people. That's a lot of traffic checking out the winners.
So, please support our new Wannabes by reading and voting. It means a lot.

For the past few weeks we have been experimenting with issuing 15 Wannabe choices. This week, we return to our original selection of 10. It can be very difficult for us to narrow down our choices because there are so many great writers and hubs that we want to include almost all of them, especially when there are several written on the same topic!

Ryan Hupfer is a HubPages employee with the unofficial title of, Communicator of Awesomeness. Hup oversees the team and keeps the rest of us mad and crazed scientists in line. He's always there for us, despite the different time zones. I'm pretty sure he never sleeps.
Shirley Anderson (me) is the team lead and perhaps the craziest of them all. Luckily, no one seems to mind too much. At least they don't say anything. Maybe they're just pacifying me, keeping me calm. I'm going to have to keep my eye on them.
ProCW is mad and crazed in a good way. ProCW designs our graphics, takes his turn writing the hub, choosing potential HubNuggets, emailing the winners and spreading the great HubNugget word throughout the forum and at every chance he gets elsewhere.
B.T. Evilpants is known for writing the playbook on best evil practises, as well as his diabolical plotting to take over the world. Somehow, gravy plays a large part of it all. BT writes some of the HubNugget hubs, chooses great Wannabe's for the weekly contest and helps to promote it.
Patty Inglish, MS - writer extraordinaire and in cahoots with the evil jackalope above. Patty takes time away from her duties at Gravy World to help us with writing the hubs, choosing prime Wannabes and promoting them in the hub and forum.
Ripplemaker flies from Wannabe to Wannabe in her HubMobile, reading, commenting and doing her civic hub duty by voting for her favourite. Ripplemaker is our loveable, talented cheerleader who always supports hubbers and the HubNuggets team.

I'm trying to get the kid hooked on video games to keep him away from such bad element. So far its not working too well. I noticed him slightly aggresive the other day, he asked me for a butter tart out of the clear blue and I told him no.

This is the 1st time I've had the luxury to sit and read the nominees, what a treat! I really like it when writers set aside professional jealousy and pettiness to promote other writers. Kudos to all who participate and organized this in the 1st place.
As a Social Issues Poet (SIP) I really liked it that you chose people who are writing about what affects thousands, even millions of people: depression, world wildlife sanctuaries and toxic waste.
Question: Do you do these by themes sometimes? I'd be curious to see various hubs from say, historical, food, culture or whatever. LondonGirl writes a lot of great historical hubs that are in-depth. Jerilee Wei writes a lot about the dying art of folk healing from the Cajun culture, an insider's view as she was trained in it, passed from generation to generation.

Denny, hubbers really are great, aren't they? This is a community with a caring, helpful spirit.
Re topics, we don't have weekly themes but topics seem to run in trends. We try to have lots of variety but it doesn't always work out that way. Social and environmental issues always catch our attention, along with a few others and we check them out as potential nominees.
Londongirl, I know for certain has been a HubNugget, although I'm afraid I can't remember for sure whether or not Jerilee was. I think so. Both have been here more than 60 days, so their work is no longer eligible, I'm afraid.
