Galvanic Current - Look Younger without Lotions, Potions or Creams
78Galvanic Current - It Fills a Need
They didn't have Galvanic Current when I was a kid, or at least I didn't know about it. When I was a little girl, the women in my family just let nature take its course. One of my grandmothers used Pond's Cold Cream, but that was the closest thing to exotic skin care that I had ever heard of, unless you count the time that my aunt told me that women could use chicken fat to moisturize their lips. Okay, let me say it for you - ewww!
Thankfully, things have come a long way since then. Over the years, we have become more finicky where anti aging and skin care is concerned, almost to the point of ridiculous at times. The prices of some wrinkle fighters and age deterent creams are unbelievable, while their effectiveness does not always live up to their claims. So, why do we keep buying these products?
As anti-aging becomes more prevelant, both men and women are conscious of how old others perceive them to be. This has never been more true than it is today, as Baby Boomers make up the largest segment of the North American population. Now in their fifties and sixties, many are looking to keep the signs of aging at bay, and why not. Our society is one of good health and youthfulness. Many people, Baby Boomers especially, do not feel the age that appears on their driver's licenses. Fifty really is the new thirty.
Galvanic Current - Easy & It Works!
Galvanic Current - Part of a Natural Regime to Look 10 Years Younger
It goes without saying that staying fit and healthy is essential to maintaining a youthful countenance. As far as wrinkles go, exercise will tone up the muscles and keep your circulation moving as it should, which helps. Many people want more help at turning back the clock, though. As a result, day spas and home spa treatments have become very popular. The products used become more and more sophisticated and effective as time goes by. As of the writing of this article, treatments using Galvanic Current seem to be the best way of beating back lines and wrinkles.
There are some significant advantages to using Galvanic Current treatments:
- better cleansing
- boost in hydration
- improved circulation
- brings out natural radiance
- draws nutrients to the skin's outer layers
- revitalizes and rejuvenates
- makes you look up to 10 years younger instantly
Treatments are done with a small machine that is moved over the skin, to which a gel is applied. The whole process works with negative and positive ions. It only takes a few minutes, but continues working at delivering the above enhancements for 24 hours afterwards. You see immediate results, which last longer and longer with each treatment.
You can go to a day spa to get this done, or buy a small, hand-held device and do it yourself for a fraction of the price. I received one for Christmas from my daughter, Lisa, and I love it! Mine is about the size of a shaver and runs on batteries. I've only used it twice so far but the second time netted me results that lasted about a week.
As an added bonus, Galvanic Current can be used on all parts of the body and helps with things like cellulite and flabby upper arms. It can be applied to the scalp, as well.
If you are one of the majority of people who are (or want to be) proactive in staying as young looking as possible, then Galvanic Current may be perfect for you. It's easy, convenient and you get to look younger without lotions, potions or creams.

Hi Shirley, it's the first time I heart of Galvanic Current. I'm still into Pond's cold cream.LOL. Sounds very intersting. I may have to look around in the city if this thing is available here. I'm glad to see you back and publishing again. To youthful skin and spirit --cheers!:)
I have a friend just starting out in selling some deal like this in MLM. Because she is my friend, I consented to go to a "party." The part she didn't tell me was that once you buy one of these things you have to buy pricey cream from them forever and ever amen. That the galvanic doohickey or whatever only supposedly preps your skin for the cream and makes the cream more effective. I asked very pointedly what if you just used the doohickey without the cream? Oh that would be completely ineffective was their reply. Truly the thing looked just like that thing that you pictured in your hub.
Shirley, it looks scary - is it different from anal probe? ;)
Shirley: My lips are sealed! :) hehe. If you find out more about having to purchase the creams, let us know.
Hi, Shirley! Nice job and it looks like it will bring in lots of traffic. I hope it does. I had to laugh in the beginning though. The picture looks just like a stun gun and it put a funny image in my head. If you also have a stun gun, don't get 'em mixed up!
My mom used Ponds, and I first started using it to remove theatrical make-up, but then found that good old Vaseline Petroleum Jelly worked the best. Nothing like putting petroleum products on your face for smooth (and flammable) skin!
Glad it's working for you. I think a lot of people would be skeptical, but with your personal, positive experience, it will be taken more seriously by your readers. Not to be a "buttinski," but I checked and they sell quite a few of these on Ebay. Might want to place some ads. I think you could sell some.
Now, if you'll excuse me, I have to go put some petroleum products on my face. No smoking!
My Mum was on stage a lot both professionally singing and acting. She swore by "Crowes Cremine", which was a highly greasy makeup remover that was ideal for removing 'stage paint'. The name always used to make me laugh, as it sounded like it was for 'old crows', but the stuff actually worked very well. They have just started making it again to the original recipe after popular demand, (although they have somehow bumped up the price). It left your skin ever so soft because of the greasy nature of the product.
I guess it is worth mentioning that NOTHING you put on your skin will add moisture to it. The best you can hope for is that it will seal moisture into your skin. The best way to actually moisturise skin is to drink lots of water (i.e. moisturise from the inside out). Common sense to most of us, but who knows who is reading this and still thinks a moisturiser will make their skin more supple if applied on the outside :)
What made Pond's cream ? When Max Factor. LOL interesting hub.
Hi Shirley, it looks like a miracle machine. But does it have side effects? Haven't heard of this before.
Sure don't know if anything could help my sun baked wrinkles! Interesting hub, never heard of this item. It could be the fountain of youth, time will tell, and until that happens my wrinkles will stay set in their way.LOL
Ah yes, Ponds. I think that most everybody of a certain age can relate to having seen this in one's home or grandparent's home. This invention sounds interesting. The people I know who have had face lifts........they do not last that long. Big expense also. This sounds like a better idea.
My mother used Pond's, too :)
This sounds interesting but I may have a hard time convincing Mom. Galvanic sounds a bit serious enough - what more about current? LOL Seriously, it's the first time I've heard of it and I doubt if it's available here. But I shall find out :D
And my Auntie! I wonder if they sell that ray gun in the UK? I'll have to watch out for it!
Hi Shirley, if you were my mom, I would love to sit down and have you galvanized spa this thing on my face Hahahaha Well, since you are so far away, if Daisy finds this thing here tucked somewhere in this lil country of ours, I'll also convince her to do it for me. LOL
Yes, it sure would be fun! LOL
Yes Shirley, don't know about now, but back then they did. And I don't remember any serious alternative, too :)
And I was thinking you just used a photo of your daughter, for your new avatar (not that you looked old, before). I wonder if it works on dry fur.
By the way, there was always Ponds in my mom's makeup drawer. It was good for so many things. Moisturizing, removing makeup, lubricating bicycle chains, and a tasty dessert topping, too!
Hi Shirley,
Mum was a professional singer who cut records with Columbia, as well as appearing in major London pantomimes as 'Principal Boy', and she even appeared in a Hammer Horror Film with 'Victor Madden', called "Blood of the Vampire" in black and white. Unlike her I do not do stage work, but can sing pretty well after her ongoing tips and advice (she was 'Bel Canto' trained, which is really really hard).
'Crowes Cremine' is really good, and it used to be mainly used by people on stage, but now many other people can use it too. It comes in a pale blue tub, and lasts for absolutely ages. Works on any makeup, plus leaves the skin feeling supple and moisturised. I highly recommend it, plus even with the recent price increase it is still cheaper to use than most other makeup removers today.
If you really would like to know more I published a whole hub on her training and career, plus many of the people she worked with and met such as Cliff Richard, Jayne Mansfield, Dick Emery etc. The link to this hub is:
Chicken fat? No. I think she preferred pond scum. Chicken fat had a funny taste.
Hi Shirley, actually the Crowes Cremine is quite greasy, but it does leave your skin feeling really good afterwards.
The "Blood of the Vampire" film is really hard to get hold of, and even we had a job securing a copy. I believe the scene of Mum chained up in the dungeon (as per the photo on my hub about her career), was cut from the version put out in the cinema's because at the time it was considered too 'sexy' to be acceptable, although we have the full uncut version here.
Hi Shirley, just had to drop by and say I love your new avatar -- you look all fresh and ready to take on the world with a new vibrant energy. I can't wait for your profile page to experience the power of Galvanic current as well.LOL. Will be on the look out:)
A little too much cleveage on show for the time I believe, and it was back in the 1950's after all :)
I must admit I have not heard of the chicken fat on the lips thing. Ponds it was for mom and the two grannies, although they the grannies as I recall it might have used vaseline petroleum gelly too!
Sounds interesting, but I'm waitiing for your follow up report.
I have always been especially suspicious of anti-aging creams. It doesn't make sense that you should be able to rub a substance on your skin and it stops you from getting older.
This goes against the laws of physics. It goes against the theory of relativity and the space/time continuum. If it did work to stop aging, users would never get another birthday present. I'm not sure I'm willing to give that up.
Shirley,
I need to buy a king-sized one and start at my forehead then work my way down to my toes! Interesting Hub. I've never heard of it before.

Hi Shirley Now that you mention it, they did have remarkable skin for their respective ages! especially my older Gran on my mother's side.
Shirley. I'm sceptical... I'm very sceptical. I see so many products like this - all the time! making the same claim: "Look younger!" I sleep with my TV ov on (weird I know, but I can't sleep otherwise) and if I happen to awake to see what's playing in the middle of the night, 99.9% of the time it is an infomercial hawking a product which "guarantess" to make women look younger or "Your money back."
I just don't believe any of them any more.
Well, that was my happy, positive contribution. My work here is done...
Hi Shirley, I just had to check and see what the heck Constant Walker might be contributing to the comments here. Since he has naturally boyish good looks, no wonder he sees no need for such a product!
I agree that a full-blown face lift is just frightening to me (although I have two friends who have done it and dont' seem to have ill effects). But anything I can do at home in the privacy of my own bathroom -- I'll give a try.
Thank you so much for this information. Imagine all of us hubbers around the world with more beautiful skin! Isn't that a lovely thought??!!! MM
I understand you should not use it if you have teeth implants. Is this true?

Shirley: This is so what I like! Had not heard of it. I am too chicken to ever consider a face lift as I get older, but a tool such as the Galvanic Current sounds perfect. I checked the link and was wondering, are you using the Galvanic Current device without the cream?
Thanks girlfriend, for sharing!
