Christmas Gift Ideas Under $20 For Kids
Wii Nunchuk Controller
This goes with the Wii games that support nunchuk use, fitting into the hand that isn't performing the main action in the game. Nunchuks are those things that Ninjas use, you know - those sticks with chains in the middle that I'd kill myself with if I ever tried to use them. It plugs into the bottom of the Wii remote via a cable that is 2 1/2 ft. long. It has 2 trigger buttons and a joystick. No batteries required.

Wii Grand Slam Sports Pack
The Wii controller fits into the handle of these pieces. Actually, these pieces all share the same handle - one at time, of course. When you want to change sports, you unscrew the one you're using and screw on the new one. The set includes a tennis racket, a baseball bat, golf club and sterring wheel. Apparently, the controller needs to be removed during pitching when baseball is being used. The tennis racket light fixture requires two AA batteries.
Set the Mood
Anyone on your list would love this jewel tone 5pc tea light candle tray. It's great to use as a centerpiece for home or office. This attractive candle set adds a calm and relaxing ambiance to any environment. Product includes 5 glass votive holders, 5 tea light candles, river rocks, and a wooden candle tray. The votives come in an array of colors to match any décor.
Editor's note 2010 - geez, another one bites the dust and raises its price! I'll see if I can track down a lower substitute.
Give the Kids an Old Fashioned, Non-Electronic Game for Christmas
-
Jenga - Ages 6 & Up - Stack the blocks and have each player take a turn removing one until the tower falls down. Unlike puzzles, this game isn't ruined if a piece is lost. Fun for adults, as well as kids. Comes in a sturdy canister for storage.
- Twister - Ages 6 - 99 - Who doesn't love Twister?? It's good exercise and tons of fun! Grandmas and Grandpas will remember playing Twister in their younger days, so it’s a great game to involve the entire family in over Christmas.
Christmas Movie Fun for Kids
New Christmas Classics Gift Set
There are 4 holiday movies for your little ones in this boxed set. That's 284 minutes on 2 DVD's. Full screen display features Casper, George of the Jungle, Fat Albert and Gumby. Not rated. Starting at only 55 cents! This one fits in everyone’s budget and makes a terrific stocking stuffer.
Barbie Does a Christmas Carol
Barbie in a Christmas Carol
Every little girl will love this one. Barbie stars in this adaptation of the traditional Charles Dickens' story. Fashion, laughs and singing - this movie has it all! As best as I can figure out, Ken does not have a role in Barbie's screen debut. It's just 60 animated minutes of the beautiful Mattel model, a cat and three Christmas spirits.
Shrek for Under $20
Shrek the Halls
The beloved ogre returns to the screen with the usual cast of loveable characters to celebrate the Christmas season. Shrek extends his typical heart-warming wishes, "Smelly Christmas to all and to all a gross night."
Kids and adults alike love Shrek! This movie features 22 seasonal minutes of run time.

Ladies Watches
Unless you already bought her one recently, you just can't go wrong with a nice looking watch. They're functional and pretty. Watches are typically gift-boxed for giving and come with a warranty or guarantee. Not only that, they come in a myriad of colour ways and styles.
A watch is a pretty good gift for the $20 range.
Warm, Cozy Scarves
Have you ever felt a 100% pure Pashmina scarf? Me either, but I'd sure like to. Amazon describes these 72" x 26" beauties thusly:
"Fine wool from the undercoat of Himilayan mountain goat, raised by semi-nomadic herders. Luxurious rarity; incomparable softness, warmth and durability; extremely lightweight."
You can see why I didn't bother to paraphrase. I was too busy drooling.
These scarves come in a variety of colours and get softer the more they're worn. She will lo-ove you for this!
Christmas Gifts for Him
These knives are from Victorinox, which I can tell you from being in the promotional products industry, is THE best brand. Numerous sturdy little hand tools hide away in the swiss built body. Victorinox knives come boxed for easy wrapping and have a lifetime warranty. You can get this little beauty for less than $20.
V-Neck Sweater for Him
No Amazon products foundKeep Him Warm This Christmas
It'll only cost you $15.30 to get this trendy long sleeve V-neck for the guy on your list. It's available in 4 different colours. Features include:
- Tri-Blend (50% Polyester / 25% Cotton / 25% Rayon) construction
- Polyester retains shape and elasticity; Cotton lends both comfort and durability; addition of Rayon makes for a unique texture and drapes against the body for a slimming look
- Durable rib V-neckband
Great Christmas Gift for a Boyfriend, Brother, Dad, etc.
He'll love this Axe shower detailer. The mesh side helps to clean the sensitive, delicate areas, while the other side takes care of scrubbing the tougher places. This is meant to be used with liquid soap only and provides a great lathering clean. Axe body wash is available in drug stores, etc., so it's really easy to keep your guy well stocked with his favourite fragrance. N.B. Pick one you like the smell of, too. :-)
Hope This Helps
Hopefully, this hub will save you some time and money. I know that it took me hours to find all these items.
These products are all from Amazon as you can see, but that will save you even more time. Shopping online for your Christmas gifts means not having to go to crowded stores or try to find a parking spot. Heck, some gifts can be shipped gift wrapped.
If I spot more things that I think might go well here, I'll add it.
Happy Shopping & Merry Christmas!

I love these ideas and do see why you were drooling over those pashmina scarves. I'm always looking to save time and money. Thanks Shirley for helping me do some Christmas shopping. What a pal! :) (printing out)
Looks like you have a head start on writing holiday hubs Shirley! Nice recommendations for Christmas presents!
I do hubs about Christmas songs, movies, crafts, and decorating, which are easier to write about than Christmas shopping in my opinion.
Nice ideas, Shirley. I love pashminas and have a few because sis used to have a boutique in NY that sold pashminas and bags, so since sis is a generous older sister who spoils her little sis, (that's me), she would let me have pashminas and accessories from her shop. :)
Love the hub, but where did that sexy avatar go? By the way, you should add some home made items. I'm thinking...baked goods!
ViolentSun - you are one lucky younger sister! Tell me....are the pashminas as wonderful as they sound? Thanks for coming by and commenting. >>>
Yes! They are lightweight and keeps one warmer than the bulky scarfs, reason why I stopped wearing bulky scarfs to keep the cold out, when I lived in the East Coast with its harsh winters. I wear not only the scarfs but also the shawls, even here in Oregon where the weather is more temperate but it does get cool in the winter.
Shirley, With the current financial climate, this hub will be very handy! very handy indeed,!,,, until i find a hub titled "gift ideas under $10
I have been reading to many frugality hubs! lol:D
Great list here Shirley. It's hard to believe that Christmas is only a month away.
regards Zsuzsy
Christmas is coming up really fast this year and we haven't even had our Thanksgiving in the U.S. yet which is in 2 days. It is the 27th this year and usually the 21st or 22nd so Christmas will be right around the corner. I don't think about Christmas til after thanksgiving so I will see you maybe this weekend to check out a few things I like here. Glad you asked and Violet Sun answered about those scarves. ;)
Sweet! and yes! i WAS peeking! lol :D
LOL...Shirley, after Christmas and before you switch back to original avatar would you consider giving us woman a really hawt hunk of a guy for your next avatar, would you at least think about it Shirley. This is my Christmas wish to you! :)

Great hub. I am on a budget and these gift ideas are a great relief after looking through store after store after store and only finding great gifts that cost over fifty dollars. That is a tough way to shop for a sinlge mother of four. Trust me. I know.
Tootles!!
I like Jersey Knit Robes
Love the hub and you're an Amazon genius.
How about a hub for Christmas Gifts for people you don't like very much, but have to get them something, anyway?
This is a great article and very befitting for the current economic state. Going traditional is great especially with the board game ideas you put on here - I would like to get members of my family away from the Playstation and Xbox (which is like pulling teeth). I dont know how well Gumby would go over (jk) but this really is a very simple and to the point article - It my pleasure to read this. thank you
ONLY 11 DAYS LEFT, PEOPLE! GET SHOPPING!
Thanks for saving me lots of time this christmas
Great hub Shirley,I love shopping on Amazon, it really makes things so much easier.
Great Hub good content. I rated up. I made a list of the top 10 christmas gifts for 2008 send me a comment with a link to this hub and I will publish it.
Great suggestion for the Wii nunchuck - it allows you to play boxing, easily the most fun (but exhausting) game with the system!
It's definitely quite a workout. You are seriously sore afterwards, if you take it seriously. A middle-N sounds an awful lot like a middle-M - in-patient can easily sound like impatient. :-)
Awesome ideas! Thanks for doing the research!
Thank you Shirley,
I really enjoyed your hub, I love your layout, and it is very informational. Great idea's all around for christmas shopping.
Thanks Shirley, some great ideas.
