Bedtime Tale
62
My First Poem
Dragons in the dungeon deep
Hold my children in their keep
Bigger than all life itself
The tallest one, he's King Ralph
Nasty eyes and teeth and nails
He's so bad he drips green scales
Little boy eyes wide with fear
Beg of me, "Don't stop here!"
Bravely, the dragons we will fend
Until their bedtime comes again

Great shirley!
Almost as good and Horton and Hoo. I hear they're still looking for another Dr. Seus.
Have a great Day
Shirley, you should write more poems now that you've returned to writing. there are so many formats and freeforms. Write like you talk to your children. I read your hub about selling poetry and then came here. Poems can be stories. Poets can be spokespersons of the masses. Cheers with no fears.
What a cute poem! :)
The President of your fan club - has failed!
He should have been pushing your poetry!
:)
Thumbs up from me!

I love this poem. It's very creative. The pictures of the dragons are very cute and are a nice touch, as well..
Very good. But what happened to the cat that got run over by a VW bug? I also see you have a hubber score of 100. Way to Go!!!!!
You are a good poet - no doubt about that...
So cute. Thank you. I really enjoyed it.
Now how did I miss this little gem? Love it! You really should do more of these. I'll bet a whole collection of dragon poems would be a big hit!
Shirley, that poem stands on its own, but I think it could also be a great beginning to a children's book . . .get yourself an illustrator, a few more stanzas, dragon book!
Hi Shirley, I like your bedtime poem very much. :)
